Izuru Hasumi and Mizuki Takimoto Take Home Gold at EAST JAPAN YOYO CONTEST A BLOCK

held on the 11th of January, Izuru Hasumi and Mizuki Takimoto took home the titles of the 1A and 3A divisions respectively at the EAST JAPAN YOYO CONTEST (A BLOCK).

This year Izuru packed a few more technical combos into the first half of his routine, mixing in some speedy combos arranged well to the music, before finishing a tidal-wave of perfectly hozitonal combos which he’s so renowned for. It was probably his highest scoring freestyle ever, and he managed to take 1st place with the finest of margins to mark a very memorable win.

Mizuki Takimoto – using the Valkrie, performed a well-refined routine, further improving his smoothness in double-trapeze combos and hitting some risky binds without a single snag. Despite some unfortunate mistakes toward the end, he took home the title for the 3rd year running with a convincingly high score.
