Naoto Onishi wins the 4A division of the 2015 World Yo-yo Contest!

Team Yoyorecreation member Naoto Onishi took 1st place in the 4A division of the 2015 World Yo-yo contest held in Tokyo between the 13th and 17th of August, using the Yoyorecreation Aeronaut!
After taking the Asia title a month previously, Naoto entered the world contest with the sole goal of leaving with the title.
Naoto overcame some small mistakes in the first half of his routine with great cleanliness and amazing performance in the second half of his routine which really got the crowd behind him. Hitting his super-high difficulty regeneration and horizontal combos towards the end were particularly instrumental in his win.

Close behind in 2nd place was fellow Yoyorecreation player Takumi Yasumoto using the C-NINE. Takumi showed the crowd a freestyle which was perhaps the most risky freestyle in 4A history. Focusing on hitting regen after regen, Takumi’s freestyle demonstrated the most current, cutting edge 4A tricks. Although a re-start meant that he fell short of the title, his freestyle will certainly go down in history and remain a favorite among 4A fans.
