Hirotaka Akiba and Masahiro Terada take home 3rd and 4th place at Japan Nationals!

Team Yoyorecreation member Hirotaka Akiba took home 3rd place in the 1A division of the Japan National Yo-yo Contest held in Tokyo on the 17th and 18th of June 2017. Entering directly to the final round with his North Japan Yo-yo Competition seed, Hirotaka took to the stage with a freestyle rammed full of his original inimitable chopstick tricks. With the whole routine matching the vibe of his music. His final trick, which used a behind the back chopstick tether to transition into a horizontal slack move marked an impressive finish to a freestyle which was a pleasure to watch for the crowd.

The 1A technician of the Yoyorecreation team, Masahiro Terada took home 4th.
This year Masahiro’s freestyle put an emphasis on speed, which complemented his signature body tricks and tension hook combinations well. Masahiro continued to establish himself as a top contender by selecting a song with a very high tempo, and putting on a high energy performance packed full of original tricks. We congratulate Masahiro on his 4th place which is his new personal best at Japan Nationals.
