Masahiro Terada and Takumi Yasumoto take 2nd place at the East Japan Yo-yo Contest A-Block

Team Yoyorecreation members Masahiro Terada and Takumi Yasumoto take 2nd place in the 1A and 4A divisions of the East Japan Yo-yo Contest A-Block (EJ-A), held in Chiba prefecture Japan on the 9th of Janurary.

In an extremely competitive division, Masahiro was pitted against first and second place of last years world yo-yo contest. Using an up-tempo track, Masahiro’s three minute routine was packed full of well-timed original tricks without any major mistakes. Although he fell a little short of taking the title this year, he showed that he is capable of competing with some of the world’s top talents. We think that this was a great freestyle to kick off 2017 for Masahiro.

In the 4A division, Takumi flowed through the first half of his routine, mesmerising the crowd using the C9. However unfortunately, a string tangle caused him to lose his momentum in the second half and so he was not able to push his score as high as we might have hoped. Despite missing out on the title by a fine margin, there is a glaring improvement in his consistency and so we are sure that he will soon win his first title.
